From the Monet in Venice show at the Brooklyn Museum from October 2025-February 2026. Several version of the exact same view were shown, highlighting Monet’s practice of setting up canvases at the exact same time every day to capture that specific light. Once the piece was finished, he’d set up later in the day to paint that light.
